I appreciated Herbert West - Reanimator, the basis of the movie Re-Animator. Lovecraft had actually thought it was the worst thing he ever wrote.

Do you also enjoy the zombie books that feature non flesh eating zombies. The zombie books that could be based in fact in part on certain plants creating a zombie like state.

I've not read any of them but they sound like they'd be an interesting read. I'll have to look into them, thanks :D

I am guessing you have read I am Legend. The script for the unmade Ridley Scott adaptation is very good as well.

The Descent is pretty outstanding. This isn't quite zombies. It hits a lot of the same bases, though. It's an updating of the Verne, Burroughs, Lovecraft style of underground lost civilisation story. Humanity discovers a vast network of caves around the world with signs of habitation, and the U.N sends a team of scientists and soldiers to investigate.

Does the book The Descent have anything to do with the movie of the same name?
