As a person who is questioning his very own sexuality, here is my advice to people like me who have been bullied for who they are.

Start asserting the ever loving heck out of yourself as your own person. It's their problem that they are prejudiced and ignorant and not yours. Next time someone tells you that you are the one who is being intolerant or that their feelings are hurt, tell them to look in a mirror.

Start making a blunt point that you are you and that you make your own rules of living as they have made theirs. Nobody ever has the right under any circumstances to keep you in a position that you're uncomfortable with and you are not obligated to respect what you don't want to be a part of. In the end, what matters is that you live up to your own expectations and you as a person with the ability to think, learn, and act for yourself are not up for debate.

All you have to do is say NO.

NO, you cannot treat me this way.
NO, I am not yours to look down on.
NO, I decide what is right for myself.

I just remembered something I saw a long time ago that ticked me off immensely. There was this girl who thinks that her mom and dad family is more unique than the "other" non-traditional family. A group of people were on her side as this was held at a certain rally that I will not say what for as you may already know what I'm talking about.

Why is it so hard for people to understand that not everyone is the same? Why can't they understand that everyone is an individual with their own strengths and weaknesses and don't all adhere the same supposed standard? When you have everyone following one specific norm, you are hardly unique. Someone apparently had that in mind when she had the gall to say that "certain people" should not be together. I wanted to punch that girl and all those people immediately so bad for applying their selfishness and narrow-mindedness to other people who are not them.

It all came down to "our families are better than your families and we're are going to force you to see that."
