"Trailer music" (i. e., that really dramatic orchestra-and-choir music you hear in movie ads) and some symphonic metal...really dramatic, pulse-pounding music. My emotions tend to be dramatic that way. Plus it helps with my writing-related daydreams.

Soothing/chill-out/ambient music, I just tune out and don't even hear. :/

That's great! :D

The genres that fit my emotions the best would probably include grunge, nu-metal, and the more angsty forms of pop-punk. Essentially, mopey alternative rock aimed at teenagers.

I'm glad someone thinks so, my parents just think it's annoying and my former therapist outright said, "That's weird." :?

Jazz, alternative rock, certain electronic artists. I am especially impressed with 0edit's ability to construct soundscapes at once alien and familiar; his work on Neotokyo is a constant listen of mine, and perfectly captures the joys and pitfalls of chronic isolation. As contemporaries, George Colligan, James Farm, and particularly Le Boeuf Brothers have captured a sort of angsty zeitgeist that you simply would not expect to find in jazz - they, along with some other classic artists, compose the bulk of my listening. Also Radiohead, The Delgados, some Deerhunter on the side.

Well i listen to a lot of electronic music sometimes party hits but mostly classic trance and some nice ambient/dark ambient/space music.

How does it relate to me? Well I've always been a chill/laidback person and listen to a lot of chill/laidback music just slow and experimental stuff or just general relaxing stuff that just takes you away.

I'm weird when it comes to how music affects me emotionally. My appreciation for it works entirely on a subconscious level. Sometimes I can't stand a song because of it's message, other times I feel like I connect to what the song is expressing, sometimes I'm emotional and the song comforts me, but most of the time I just like how it sounds.

I guess the musical genres that best match my typical emotional states are downtempo and electronic rock.

I used to like all kinds of music, back when I wasn't thinking clearly. Back in high school, I used to experimented with rock music. But when I started college, I didn't know it was going to affect me, which it did. Rock music, metal music, Grunge, emo, Riot Girrl, and Goth music was awful because it was all negativity and emnui. So, I got out of those genres as fast as I can. I love listening to Christian music and adult contemporary music, because it expresses what I felt, from putting God first to finding true love. As a result, I was happy. Also, I listen to Maja Toudal, because it shows that even Aspies can express themselves by singing and writing a song.

Yeah, I don't really listen to that much music that has explicit emotional value (the vast majority of the music I listen to is instrumental), and I connect to music in almost entirely in a reflective way. In other words, when I am listening to angry music it's because I am angry and the music merely echoes my state of mind. I cannot say that music has impressed upon me a meaningful emotion or a mindset that I wasn't already feeling. Anyways, back to talking about what I listen to, maybe some of it feels angry, some of it feels sad, some of it feels excited, some of it feels laidback, etc, but there's always a degree of ambiguity in what it is expressing. I suppose it's the ambiguity of instrumental music that makes it more interesting to me and also feel less alienating (for a lack of better words) than music that has lyrics which are not an expression of who I am. Not only that but sometimes songs lack the depth and the "texture" of instrumentals because the vocalist does not have an interesting singing voice (I really get bored listening to typical pop singers) and the rest of the composition is not sufficiently interesting either to make up for it.

The series I'm writing wouldn't exist if it wasn't for the music I listen to. Music like Hollywood Undead, Deuce, The Birthday Massacre, Vocaloid, Blood on the Dance Floor and other stuff inspired me to create my series as well as getting through a difficult patch in life.

I like classical that's chaotic and full of angst/darkness. Especially Rachmoninoff.

I always listen to new-agey music or something because silence bothers me to no end and I need to fill it with something.
