[i]Sons of Earth[/i]- need advice

As the first volume of my book series, Sons of Earth, neers 100 pages, Ive run into a problem. I was allreddy planning to merge the first 2 books, Bounty Hunter and Revelations, but it looks as if it will still be to short. If I add the 3th book, Alliances, onto that, thogh, I think itll be to long.

And besides which, i want to have at leest 2 full books BEFORE i start work on the one after that, Omega, because between Omega and the next one theres a years gap in the timeline, so i feel like that first part of the series shoud be at leest 3 books long.

Any advice?

Depends. What's your target audience? What's your word count? 100 pages is a little vague due to single/double spacing, font size, etc.

If you're writing for mainstream adult fiction, yes, 100 pages is probably a little short. But it could work for the young adult market.

Mainstreem fiction. Not sure about word count ill get back to you on that. And no, if I finish the first book at the end of Revelations it will still be more than 100 pages Im only about 3 quarters of the way throogh Bounty Hunter at the moment, but judging by the plan Revelations will be quite short.

it looks like Bounty Hunter and Revelations together will come to about 200/250 pages.

Allso, Alliances on its own will probably come to about that, but i no how i can fix that if it does, just add more systems into the list of places to negotiate with. Mabey pay a visit to Alpha Centauri. And im not sure if ive included Mars in the original plan (yes theres life on Mars in Sons of Earth. They live under Olympus Mons and in the sides of the Valles Marineris, which is why weve not made contact with them.

Sounds like combining the first two and looking for ways to expand them might be the best plan then. Have you figured out how you can adapt the plot arc to flow as a single book instead of rising and falling twice? Do both Bounty Hunter and Revelations involve the same core group of characters?

Yes, the same main caricters - John McKay starring role. Yes, they will flow as a single book - Bounty Hunter was originally intended to end on a cliffhanger. Allthogh i was allredy planning to combine the first 2, it just mite still be to short then.

This is sad to say, but Ive not actaully got anywere with the first book sinse my first post on this thred... Kinda got riters block... Help me out?

Well, I gess its not that bad actaully, Ive been working on the rest of the series. I added more detail to Ashleas caracter and how she discovers Hohto Me'ntrebs plans using a stolen Blood Ring corvette... and i shoud probably stop there
