I like to listen to finntroll once in a while, but I just prefer Nordic folk without the metal most of the time.

Well there is Korpiklanni, probably the least metal of the folk metal bands, they were initially finnish folk music and later became folk metal I guess. Anyways they are one of my favorites.

Are you still into Scandinavian languages?

I like scandinavian languages, but I think the only hope I'd have of learning any is to actually go there and be exposed to it being spoken.

About maybe 2 summers ago I tried to make a major foray into Folk and Viking metal, I somehow ended up listening to Turisas so called genre of "Battle Metal". Good times. I do need to start another expedition at some point though into the genre though as I came out of it with basically nil.

Ach, now I have to listen to Battle Metal and The Varangian Way again.
