Technically speaking, couldn't that mean that the universe that you reside in, as well as all universes, could implode without doing damage? Doesn't that create a problem involving the nature of the medium you exist in? Now it seems to me that there is some logical problem with a shield separating you from reality itself and thus denying you a medium that your people live in. It ultimately means that such a shield leaves you separate and detached from the world, and confined to whatever resources are on planet proper.
