My current favourite chords are major and minor add9's, mixed chords like a D with a B at the bottom, and minor 7's.
I kinda like chord progressions which remind me of a combination of pop and that grandiose holy church music(the classical ones not the soul ones), but I prefer the tempo to be a little up, or in the least making the sounds abit harder, abit more rock'ish sound picture(unless I am using strings, or harps or soft synths).

I am very into music theory and sheet music. I usually used mixed ones. I prefer augmented, dominant 7ths, and minor 6ths as of lately

Altered dominant with a raised 5th acting as an augmented 6 French 4/3 outlining the whole time scale.

I find this question silly. My answer hopefully implies the right amount of contempt.

Oh, and tritone substitutions. Forgot about those.

I'm a by ear musician.
Playing harp for 40 plus years.
Guitar and ukulele are secondary.

I like playing the relative minor of the key of song.

I too am by ear, though I know a little theory. I like minor ninths.

I'm fond of minor i and iv with a major v. So, say, Am, Dm, E. It has a nice sort of European folk feel to it for me.

There's a song by the band Suede - The Asphalt World - where the chorus runs Dm/Dm maj7/Dm7 (which, as played, is effectively an F with a D bass) to G/G#/Am, then C/D/F/G/G#/Am. I love that little run.

Here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=p ... ZLDDU#t=78

And another of theirs, with (essentially) another minor key semitone-descending baseline - The Big Time.

Here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EXi7gTjv4qs

It sounds a mix of Am/E/G/D/F/Am/F/E and largely staying with Am but going down maj7/7/6.

Don't judge, but your typical pop power chords. E.g. I-V-vi-IV, V-vi-IV-I, vi-IV-I-V
IV-I-V-vi chords.

They're so overused in so much popular music across so many genres, but I still think they WORK. It's such an appealing little sound.

Heck, I've used the I-V-vi-IV at one point in one of my songs.

Some example songs:

21 Guns - Green Day
Holiday - Green Day
Listen to your heart - Roxette
All I Ever Wanted - Basshunter
Eurodancer - DJ Mangoo
Come Home - DJ Rad
Starlight (Could you be mine) (Otto Knows Remix) - Don Diablo & Matt Nash
