I always wondered if the 2 were connected because I would here people say so every now and then. Very interesting read.

I spoke to one of the researchers in an autism research group in the UK and asked about this, because I'm lesbian and autistic. They said that they too have data which suggests that a bigger percentage of people on the spectrum have gender dysphoria and/or homosexuality when compared to the general population. Interesting article.
