I grieve, I pine, I want, I desire this:

I haven't touched a violin in years but I miss it. This model is exciting because I live in an apartment, and the violin is silent, and nobody will hear me! My ghost violin.

Oh, do you suppose it can make enough sound to use a tuner?

I was doing scales when the teacher changed the class to a quartet and I quit. I kept taking the violin out again but didn't get another teacher. Finally it got lost in a disaster.

My problem is that I don't finish things. Writing a book or a blog, learning an instrument, etc. Should I try again with violin?

I think this sort of thing has been around for a while. Never been in to playing violin myself but I used to be in to synthesizers and at that time noticed that Yamaha made this sort of silent violin as well.

My tuner can be set from microphone to vibrate (clip)

I got the violin today and it's great. Now I have to find the tuner that arrived last week. I have to build strength in my hands and my arms hurt! It looks like the preparation will take forever. I'll let you know if I ever get a note out of it.

I have seen pro violinists play a silent violin put through an amp simulator, guitar effects and eventually an amp.

this guy's a really good player and plays a wide range of music.
I have seen him play the main stage (pyramid) at Glastonbury and as a busker in the streets of Liverpool.
Awesome.

but also think the silent aspect is really cool as it allows you to practice practice practice
like a lot of things in life, repetition is one of the main keys to get good.
