Someone wanted to sit by me in math yesterday. They wanted to talk. We started talking about music. That was a big mistake. Music and cats are the 2 subjects I only talk about.

I went on and on. I honestly didnt know they were bored. Then they tried to switch the topic. I sort of didnt let them. I feel bad. They seemed to feel ok about that. Then they managed to. The worst part is that it was a one sided conversation.

When I used to have special interests, I was aware that I was talking about them too much to family and friends and I knew how bored they got. But the reason I did talk about my special interests regardless was because it was like a "brain itch". Talking about the special interests was like scratching the itch. If I ran out of special interest-related things and didn't want to repeat, I'd make up facts about it instead, until I got new information about it.

I'm glad I don't have special interests any more.

I used to find out something interesting about something I liked and then go to one of my parents and grandparents and just sort of follow them saying the facts I'd just learnt. I thought they were genuinely finding them interesting until my nan told me that I bored people, I was into my 20s at this point...

I used to do that, I probably bored people as well, but as I got older I don't do that so much.

I’m still learning about social cues.

It is especially hard on the phone with me.
