I think there's a ban on selling pornographic videogames through public stores.

I don't think they will be banned because censorship goes against the first amendment.

Most recently We Happy Few's been banned in Australia for a fictional depiction of drugs.

a few games will get banned from some countries or regions. however, games are the largest entertainment industry to have ever arisen. a single game can rake in more money than most movies and KEEP making money. sometimes for years, with very little actual work.

this industry is vast, wealthy and powerful as a whole. i dont like all the political BS happening, but it's not going anywhere.

It looks like Valve have turned around on a recent decision to ban a lot of games based on their content. IMO this decision is far more powerful in terms of affecting the industry going forward than any government ban of a game. I daresay many game developers don't give a crap if Australia bans their game, but most will care if they can sell their game on Steam or not. I had boycotted Steam but given their recent decision I will start buying games from there again.

I don't know if you heard or not, but they did ban a game called School Shooter after it got negative mainstream attention through trending and then they decided to let open the flood gates for any game to be released on Steam with the lack of quality control. Look up a game called AIDS Simulator.

That's what I was referring to. The decision is the smart one to make as effectively Valve's distribution platform is the face of the PC gaming industry. They of course have the right to not sell products based on frankly hypocritical moral decisions and anti competitive behaviour, but I can choose not to buy from them if they go down that route. Thankfully they have decided to not go down that path.
