I bought it off eBay for £18 and it's an excellent remake of a great Nintendo 64 classic.

The minigames are also great. On the "Wanted!" minigame my best score is 119.

Tell if you have any good scores on the minigames, or what you think of the game.

SM64DS was great at the time, but you should consider getting New Super Mario Bros when that comes out. I know it's not out in your area yet, but when it does come out get it as soon as possible. It is by far the best 2D Mario game since Super Mario 3. Still, SM64DS is decent all its own, and good to play every once in a while, but still a little stale compared to other games on the same system.

IMO, it > the original SM64.

Honestly it made the original one look bad because of the graphics and the lack of features. That is how I always feel about older games when newer games come out that are remakes or sequels like Mario Kart for Gamecube made the Mario Kart 64 look bad. Don't get me wrong, I am not complaining or bashing any of the games. I like the newer ones better than the older ones and the older ones show how much games have evolved.

I borrowed it from a friend once to play through each of the cups. It surely was a fun time.

Mario Kart in general is a guaranteed blast every time. The only Mario Kart game I actually own is Double Dash, though.

The good old Mario games were great. Less enthused with the new ones for consoles. The DS ones are good.

Glad this got bumped. I thought it was just a port of a game I already own. I didn't know it had been expanded, so I picked it up today. :)

It will certainly take some getting used to the controls.

This is actually the only version of the game I've ever played. When I was younger I had no idea it was a port of a Nintendo 64 game, though we definitely had a Nintendo 64 at some point.

I just played both the DS version and the N64 version recently. Surprisingly, i like the both equally well. I absolutely hate that you start the game as Yoshi in the DS version though. I don't like his gameplay at all.

Meh. I feel like it should've waited for the 3ds, because then there could be 360* movement. It was an OK remake at the time, but knowing what we know now, it could've thrived 8 years later. I like the addition of the wall slide, but you can't long jump into a wall kick anymore.
