I am usually flakier with more community type events and especially if they are costly or later at night. It means that
1. I have to spend money
2. Stay out late catching the bus home
3. Having money reserved for Lyft.

Until a couple of years ago, I went to some community type events

Some were good

But it was not worth the cost benefit analysis

A lot of the events got cancelled without notice

And I still felt left out s**t

Lil dipshits formed their own stupidass cliques

Gossipped about me

Some things ought to go without saying, but that is for me  and not anyone else

f*****g idiots acted like "what" and "huh" were the etiquette equivalent of "excuse me"

Eran globen had the nerve to tell me that "we care about you" but he had only said hello to me several times in a couple of years. And the penis did not treat me the way he treated his "awesome friends"

f**k Eran globen

I have nothing against flakes per se. I always remember Phoebe from Friends. She's a self-professed flaker and proud of it: "I'm flaky, I'll say anything!" :)

I can't help feeling we've been discussing something much more sinister than Phoebe-level flakiness here...

I'm compared to Phoebe all the time because I can be very exuberant and silly.
I resent the implication that she's a flake. LOL.

Yeah, I never saw her that way either. She has very strong principles and she's brutally honest.

I avoid making plans with other people so that I can't be called a flaker.
It's too hard to predict what my sociability tolerance will be on any given day in the future.

Absolutely agree. You know something funny? If we lived in France, Italy or Spain, we wouldn't have to worry - people make plans there on the spur of the moment, depending on how they're feeling. I think I'm on the wrong continent.

That's one of my favourite lines from my favourite character from my favourite sitcom. :D
