I struggle with being "too much" for people; anyone with me?

ever since i was a kid i've always been really intense. Very talkative, very passionate, outgoing, so I can understand what you mean. For a long time i didn't think i could be autistic for this reason but i found out that these are actually different manifestations of autistic traits.

I so relate to this. When I was a teenager I was even more outgoing and had a ton of friends, so it was impossible to tell I had AS at the time, but there were still signs here and there that I can see clearer now in hindsight. Do you by any chance have a feeling like you're a bit more child-like than your peers? I believe it's one of the possible symptoms and it was definitely true for me.
But yes, everyone's AS traits manifest differently.

As for the going into details on interest, I have had the same problem this one new cat cafe opened and I would tell every costumer details about cats from all their names to their behaviors. It was "Do you work here?" Maybe they found me condescending.

Cats were my special interest at one point too :) I would love to go to a cat cafe, but I worry whether the cats are treated well there, as you can never know. What has been your experience?
I also worry that people find me condescending, even though I don't mean to be. I think our passion can be misinterpreted as something else and NTs might think "is this person playing a joke on me?" if we behave in ways that they deem "abnormal."

The cat cafe that I go to has some pretty cool staff who really care that their furry clients who they are fostering get into a good home. The owner there does a lot with cat rescue. So it really depends on the people who run a cafe like that.

Some of the costumers who go into the cafe are really snotty and will condescend on me if I tell them anything about cats. However, I have learned to stick to small talk which is about the cats in the room. Others are really cool and compassionate about cats.

That sounds like such a cool cat cafe! I'm so happy to know that they are helping to rehome the cats; animal welfare is something I'm really passionate about

It's funny that people will still make you feel bad for talking about cats when they're the ones who chose to go to a cat cafe! Just focus on the nice people who treat you well; that's always the best thing to do :)
