So today I was standing in a doorway and looking at another doorway, because someone I wanted to talk to had been near there, but now wasn't. Someone else walked through the doorway.

And then, not wanting to look like I was staring or watching for her, I said- I sh*t you not- "Do you want to see a photo of a cat? I was going to show it to someone else, but now you're here."

Once in my first job, the workmate who was 5 years older then me (He still is 5 years older) was tending to a bike just outside the lavatory door. He was talking to me while I had nipped in to use the toilet. Well I was replying and carried on talking. While I was sorting myself out I ended up with my hand needing to be washed. I said "You never guess what, but I have the runs and I need to wash my hands" or words to that effect.
Now one had to walk through the main part of the shop to the workshop where the tap and the stone sink was.
So I carefully opened the door and my workmate was not there. What met my eyes was a most beautiful young lady of roughly my own age smiling at me. She had heard the lot.
I was soo embarissed I rushed through the shop and into the workshop shutting the door behind me and wwashed my hands.... I just got on with a bike in there so I could not be seen!

I love it when people do stuff like this around me. It’s original. I think: “I’d like to get to know that person.” Those awkward moments can be absolutely charming.
