Here are my ideas of what the perfect space game would be like. What are yours? Let me know!

The perfect space game would be a cross between Asteroids, Gravitar and Bosconian. Played on a vector monitor.

A mashup between Mass Effect, Eve Online, Star Sector and the Firefly TV-series.

Isn't that the one where you can actually die during character creation? I'm divided but intrigued.

That rules exists, but an optional rule is that your character does not die; it is only "badly injured", serves a half-term (2 years), gains no skills, and acquires no rolls for retirement for that term. I have my players follow the optional rule.

In a more "meta" analysis, character generation is one game, stellar system creation is another game, space combat is another game, ground combat is yet another game, and actual role-play is still another game. The fact that all of these (sub-) games mesh so well together is one of the features that makes Traveller so special!

Seems like a more detailed version of Trade Wars
