I'm a big fan of the band, The Cars. Recently, I came across the late Benjamin Orr's solo record, The Lace. This came out in 1986, so 2 years or so after Heart Beat city. I was pretty blown away by it, really all the tracks are quite good. The album is very much something that The Cars(as a whole) might of done but it's got a different feel to it at the same time. I'd say the strongest songs are: The Lace(title track), Spinning(our wheels), Hold on, and Too hot to stop.

IMO The Lace is one of the best albums of The 1980s that kinda flew under the radar. It should of been bigger IMO.

Hi KingKat1!

I really dug the Cars as well. I like the bands that were able to combine New Wave's quirkiness with the musicianship of rock n rollers. Duran Duran was another fav. I think my favorite Cars songs are "Moving In Stereo" and of course "Let's Go".

It's weird that 1980 was...40 years ago. "New Wave" tunes are now Golden Oldies that the kids have never heard of.

I hope you had a good week. If not, here comes another chance :jester:
