Is the thicc body type photoshopped? I often see women on Instagram with G cups, really tiny waists and wide hips that have no stretch marks. I’m comfortable with my body despite being a size 16\18. I am wondering if the obsession with thicc body types and plastic surgery is dangerous for body image.

Some of them are probably shooped, but I work with a woman who's proportioned like that and when i worked in a call centre I worked with a few women who were shaped like that.

There is more to beauty than booty.

Women with genetics from the area around the mediterranean are sometimes built this way naturally. Kim Kardashian has Turkish descent, If I'm not mistaken?

I prefer petite women myself, which is why Summer Glau is my guilty pleasure of choice, but(t) to each their own.

Verily. And more is not always better.

Then of course there's Steatopygia, which I suppose is the ur-example of this look. I'll leave it to you to google it, none of the particularly illustrative images featured clothes.

I'm not really familiar with this term but I would imagine there are a variety of explanations. Some may be natural, some Photoshopped, some due to angle & perspective tricks, and others possibly caused by extreme corset waist training.

And yes, it's probably yet another trend that's harming body image norms.

Lots get surgery. If you mean the really cartoonish type that looks very disjointed.

There's something that's done to your ribs, or tummy (??)
in Saudi, my computer instructor had it done.
She was v overweight but the surgeries gave that shape...
Most girls there get those surgeries if they feel overweight ..
IDK Why.. at my college at least.

KK got ...butt surgery (vomitrocious) among others.

All I know is I am quite short and smallish...I remember a while back shopping for pants and so many I saw where high waist pants that I hate. Granted it does seem like those look good on girls with bigger butts but if I put a pair like that on it'll just look like I am wearing a burlap sack or a potato sack on my butt which I figure is not a good look.

The 80s style high waisted jeans look seems to have come back into fashion, I was bemused beyond belief last time I went into a female clothes shop with my GF (she's girly, I am proportioned more pint glass than hourglass so find bloke's jeans and trousers fit me better).

I do reckon a lot of those thicc photos are photoshopped for sure, heaps of pictures online are. As Dr House said, everybody lies...
