Duel turbo 150bhp VW Golf - I'm just used to driving Golf's now, they're good all round cars.

For fun, there are many cars I could go for but probably too much trouble to own: Nissan Violet 710 sedan, Fiat 130 saloon, Peugeot 404 estate.

For practicality, I want a Toyota Sienna van with AWD or a Subaru Forester or Crosstrek because of living in the Northeast with snow.

For fun, I'd want a 3rd generation Pontiac Firebird/Chevy Camaro or a classic 60's or 70's Mopar, like a Plymouth Fury or Duster.

Unfortunately while they look cool they're very badly put together.

Give them a few years, maybe?

Not the four wheeled variety, but this

I've never ridden a motorcycle either.

That would be #4 or 5 on my list. An R31 Skyline would be nice too. Okay, I have lots of dreams. 8)

If it had been up to me I would have chosen a color other than red but since August I pretty much have the car of my dreams. The "price" for it is a bit higher than preferred, oh well, such is life.

The "price" for it is that thanks to a stroke for one and dementia for the other my 80 year old parents can no longer drive. They had 2 vehicles. Kept their SUV for their caretakers to take them places and gave me their van.

It is a 2017 and quite an upgrade from my literally quarter-century old minivan.

It is like going directly from Snoopy's Sopwith Camel to the Space Shuttle :!:

Motorcycle? It would have to be a Wooler. They set world records for MPG while racing. I think I heard they were doing close to 350mpg while racing.

I've already posted my absolute favourite car, the small-block Iso Grifo.

There's a very long list of other cars I'd like to own.

However it's just occurred to me that the car of my dreams is always, simply, the next one.

I love cars but the appeal only ever lasts for 18 months or so. I learned a long time ago that bangers were by far the most sensible way of feeding my car-obsessed curiosity and desire for change.

I could spend £600 or £60,000 on a car and it doesn't matter, I'll still get bored with it eventually.

A warehouse full of cars would be the ultimate dream come true I guess, but never just one.

It's possible I have ADHD.

I tend to be more practical with cars - yet cars that are becoming increasingly environmentally friendly e.g, flex-fuel, hybrid vehicles with above-average collision safety ratings are hard to find - hence what can be described as a car of my dreams.

The import cars from Japan, and some makes from Europe are at the top of my list.

* Flex-fuel (ethanol based fuel) vehicles that take 20 to 30 percent mix of ethanol are optimum - that is fuels with over 30 percent ethanol are less efficient than gasoline - hence lower fuel economy by volume. The 20 to 30 percent Ethanol mix is just enough to displace gasoline consumption without diminishing overall fuel economy - hence an overall 20 to 30 percent decrease in gasoline consumption.

* Hybrid vehicle progress is increasingly being incorporated into vehicle's receiving average to above average accident safety ratings.

I want that flying car we were promised back in the 1960s.

Honestly not sure. Something maybe like a very small sports coupe with oversized space-rover wheels and ridiculous travel on the suspension.

I did build the car shown in my avatar. The one I'm dreaming of now is similar, but with the back seat enlarged slightly, from child size to adult, bobsled style. For passenger + luggage, as in an airport run, there'd be external racks. I'd retain the pedals as a convenient way to integrate exercise with daily life, but add enough electric power to stay with either urban or rural traffic (2 models.)
While I have been a car nut all my life, and could love many of the other postings here, I think that a rational society would be shocked at the notion of any land vehicle weighing more than it carries, on average.
