They say that the drink was brown from the get go in the 19th century. And despite changes in recipe it has never changed in color. Mainly due to the consistently high caramel content of each formulation over the years.

I thought that, because I have seen old railway posters and enammelled signs that adorned railway station forecourts from the early years of rhe brand, and never were there any advertizing signs showing their product as green. It was always brown.
I did not say anything in the past when green was mentioned because I assumed that maybe they wanted it brown, but then if it had been green then so what? It would have sold whatever colour it was because a new product on the market sets the standard of whatever colour it happens to be. It is different if a pre-existing oroduct is one colour and someone else wanted to make their version but could not match the colour, so the new brand looked "Odd" in the minds of the public.

Ever consider that the pigment in the artwork might fade to being greenish? The signs were already old when you saw them, right? I'm not certain this is the explanation, but Coca Cola has never been green.
