How to Celebrate Static Electricity Day

Celebrating Static Electricity Day is simple and fun! You can choose to be the imp of the perverse to your friends and family, or you can turn your attention to helping everyone avoid this sometimes unpleasant phenomena.

I've already had static electricity day this year. For some reason I kept getting shocks when I touched things in my sisters house. I think it was because of my new slippers.

So's that joke. :jester:

In this thread we must conduct ourselves properly. I feel we must generate the correct polarity to roll forwards without creating shorts or sparks that may ignite a negative debate.

Hair-raising cuteness! Love how they advise on being the deliverer of the micro-shock or the angel of insulation!

Sometime in years past someone had uploaded to YouTube a TV documentaty on the history of the special effects model builders for these movies -- great stuff for we who build models and model railways! :D

:D Those bring to mind the longer-haired and eldest of my 2 cats, the one named Grumman.
you know the thing about squirting misbehaving, or about-to-misbehave cats with water spray bottles ...

... it doesn't work quite exactly as advertised with him ...

Georgie will take off to a different room as soon as you touch the spray bottle

but ...

Grumman ...

... Runs TO the bottle so you can mist him and comb it in to get the static out.

And then he rubs his scent glands on the bottle to mark it.

Cats ...
