Parents blamed me for not eating well :(
Moved into my place two month ago.
Mum came in with me a month ago cos they're having building work done.
I offered to shop but they kept shopping for me.
My stepdad told me that the kitchen was too small for meals like Sunday Dinners or even just for chopping vegetables.
So we've been eating stuff like pie and chips and pizza.
Anyway... I'm ill.
I have stomach ache.
I told my stepdad.
He said 'it's your diet' in a stern voice. As if it was my fault.
Thing is I have offered to shop. As long as nobody is under my feet I don't mind learning to cook. They have eaten similar stuff to me: sausage rolls, pies and chips, pizzas etc.
And now mum says all my fruit/vegetable ideas will have to wait til Wednesday when they get the food in
I can't go to the shops for their sake. Even though they have vaccines, they're still scared of Covid, even if I wear a mask. They're both high risk so before they had their vaccine this level of caution made sense.
Honestly? It feels like the same stomach ache I had when I was starving one week cos stupid people couldn't get autistic friendly food into the retreat so all I ate was lunch and breakfast.

I would go on the Tesco and similar (equal) supermarket websites and buy stuff...
But they keep filling the house up with Iceland stuff and some Tesco stuff.
Iceland is just junk (I'm saying this for the benefit of non British readers). It's delicious junk. And I miss it when I'm eating healthy. But it's: Crisps, Chocolate, Pizza, Fish Fingers, Chips (French Fries), Sausage Rolls, Ice Cream etc.
Only so much room in the food cupboard. So can't have 2 Tesco Shops then 1 Iceland shop.
So when my stepdad says 'what do you want from iceland' I say 'pizza and chips and salty snacks'. That stuff's yummy and it's what gets sold there.
Next time he asks, I'm gonna say 'I don't. Do another Tesco shop or similar and get a bunch of veggies in! Fruit for snacking!'
Basically I have more likelihood to have stomach ache eating badly than they do. It's genetic and passed down my dad's line. I only know this from talking to my dad about it last night. Also my dad's line is prone to lactose intolerance so even if I just had healthy food including milk/Greek yoghurt I would have stomach ache.

Maybe find a small table that's tall enough to sit in your kitchen to give you some room to chop veggies, or in the meantime use frozen vegetables. Kinda lame for them to complain about your diet though if they won't let you go grocery shopping.
Taking lactase enzymes with milk products eliminates that issue, that's what I have to do as I am very lactose intolerant.
The kitchen being too small is just a cop out.
You can put a chopping board on the kitchen table or even on your lap to chop meat and veg.
I prefer buying whatever veg is in season because it's fresh, frozen veg is also a cheap and easy go to and comes ready chopped for a few dollars a kilo. Even in a miniscule kitchen you can get by on one or two hotplates and a small oven.
I do most of the cooking at home and it's easy as to grill up a piece of chicken breast or a steak and throw a handful of veg into a steamer on the stovetop or the microwave. Potatoes and corn and also be cooked in the microwave. Punch a few holes in the side of a washed potato and microwave on high for 5 mins. Same goes for corn, cook it in it's husk on high for 5 mins. Simple healthy food is easy to prepare at home and when bought from a supermarket much cheaper than eating out. You avoid all of the fat and added sugar that goes into processed food, not to mention all of the preservatives.
Having a small kitchen is no excuse for eating junk food!
Well I feel indignant on your behalf.
This is your kitchen, and your health.
I suggest setting some boundaries with your folks. If you want certain foods that's your decision and they should respect that. You should not feel forced to eat inappropriate food because they think they're in charge.
