I used to think (aspie kid) that it was a list of slang terms people had documented used.

I don't think it is.

I think it's just a bunch of trolls saying everything means sexual stuff (including bizarre kinks) or something to do with drugs. Also, an excuse to slag off people you don't like and praise people you do.

Even so much as first names. People will put their own names in then put in every sort of praise they can think of then get voted up by everyone else with their name.

It's completely unusable as anything other than comedy.

I didn't even know there was a UD culture.
I didn't even know there were forums there.
The only reason go there is for information to increase my enlightenment/knowledge-base, so I can understand what someone is talking about.

I don't follow popular culture and keep well-behaved company (though, during the pandemic, the only company I keep is my bride). So I sometimes find the Urban Dictionary useful when I don't understand a slang term.

Yes. Many of them are crude and rude. But it's just a dictionary. And it has stuff I won't find in Merriam-Webster.

Though I agree it might not be 100% legit. I sometimes think the submissions are there to play with the heads of unsuspecting readers.

Urban Dictionary should be changed to Neo-Nazi Dictionary because they're unwilling to accept anybody different from themselves.
