According to many definitions of middle age, it is usually between 45 and 65 so technically I 36 is still young which kind of reassures me and maybe yourself and yet there are a minority of those who assume to you are middle age in your late 30s and early 40s.

I view myself as a very experienced child so I don't actually buy into the notion that I might be too old for most things.

Except hitting on high-schoolers, I feel too old for that.
