No because I don't see the point in doing such acts.

This reminds me of a funny & confusing situation. One time in school a friend confided in me that he did something at school that was wrong. He did not tell me not to say anything but I knew not to. However another student saw him doing it who came forward & told the teacher after a couple days. My friend was not aware that anybody saw him & I was the only person he told so he of corse assumed that I ratted him out. When he was confronted he was caught off guard & was frustrated & mentioned something about me ratting him out & I ended up getting in trouble as well for not coming forward. My friend assumed I let the cat out of the bag when I did no such thing & he ended up letting the cat out of the bag about me knowing. At least he missed more recesses than me

About a month ago, I was told of a family secret from nearly ten years before I was born that involved a childhood accident with severe consequences involving a relative of mine. It's not about anything illegal or underhanded, but it is something that could cause one at least one person serious mental problems.

I talk to my sister daily over the Internet and would love to ask her about it, but I don't want to be the one who tells her if she doesn't know about it. If she doesn't know about it, then she would probably feel about like I fell about it now. I don't know if she was born before it happened, but even if she was, she would not remember it.

I don't even know that the person who had the childhood accident was ever told about it when older. I suspect that the person wasn't told because that would have meant keeping the secret their entire life. If that person was still alive today, I still wouldn't bring it up.

I could talk to the preacher, but he knows everyone involved and I'm not sure it wouldn't slip out sooner or later.

Not being able to discuss this is really bothering me. I've never had a secret like this before.

Even though I'm anonymous on here, I don't feel comfortable discussing what happened because if anyone ever figures out my identity, they would know something that would cause issues for the one person mentioned above.

I am curious who one talks to about something that you can't get out of your head and involves something very sensitive.

Seems like have 3 options here.
1- Talk about it with the person or people who told you.
2- Talk about it with yourself. Either in your head or write or type about it & then destroy.
3- Try to move on & try to not think about it.

Long ago, I've developed that "sixth sense" to be proactive in avoiding such environments which - more often than not end-up "opening those cans of worms!"
