I am puzzled. When I was in school they were saying the population was rising and it was 68 million. I remember this figure as we had to remember it for our school geography exams of what was going to be 0 level but they had changed it to the new (Then) GCSE's.
But today the figures seem lower then that? Am I missing something? I am going to look at more statistics. Back in a bit.

If you subtract the population of N. Ireland from the UK population, you get roughly 65 million. If you mean literally Great Britain, the well-known island. I suppose one can neglect the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands.
