I am aged 43.

I am a British citizen of Middle Eastern origin.

I live in the Home Counties .
Not married, no children, not much luck with girls. I have a poor work history. Graduated from a leading university in the Midlands, 1999, aged 20, postgraduate qualification in 2000.
I have a statistics qualification. Skills in web development, computer programming, data analysis !

I had health problems as a child including allergies, auditory processing disorder, asthma.

Age 8, I attended an assessment there was evidence of dyspraxia and ADHD.

Age 9, I attended an assessment there was evidence of dyspraxia, ADHD and Aspergers traits.

I attended a top private school, developing severe mental health problems.

Age 23, a psychiatrist told me to get speech therapy, I was told I had dyspraxia. I thought it was just being clumsy .

I attended an NHS assessment, early 2004, early 2004, aged 25,it consisted of a 10 minutes with a horrible psychiatrist he said Aspergers traits not a problem. My mother said not a problem, one tiny statement in a record aged 9.

I exceeed, all people with Asperger’s syndrome, problem I had undetected ADHD. I did not know I had ADHD, until early 2020, I had a nervous breakdown to there !

I learned about adult dyspraxia, 2008. . I received a diagnosis of dyspraxia, aged 33, May 2012, the GP would not accept my report.

I received a diagnosis of ADHD, August 2020, aged 41, in Birmingham. I was prescribed Concetra, titrated to the correct dose . The NHS, gives an NHS prescription, I know people who have to pay full costs. I will have a 3 year waiting time to have , review the medication from a local mental health nurse.

There are adult ADHD support groups, there was Mary Colley from DANDA ( almost obsolete).

The dyspraxia foundation and national autistic society, GPs, NHS, NHS mental health services let me down from childhood.

I will get married. I am a landlord. Few options, left in my life , self employment, only get employed as a Data analyst in the NHS, declaring dyspraxia and / or ADHD.

My parents separated aged 18. I have o close family. I am of Middle Eastern origin, potentially of South Asian origin .

I have quite severe anxiety, depression, mood disorder. No treatment. Anxiety developed in secondary school.

I feel let down, isolated, lonely, let down by the system ! The system is biased towards children and their parents, for children it is not a “walk in the park “.

Welcome to Wrong Planet. I am sorry you have had such a rough time with the diagnostic process. I hope it gets better for you.
