So this was a movie that was banned in the U.S. The premise is that a dozen conservatives are captured by liberals and forced to run through the woods so they can be hunted down and killed.

Really? Conservatives were so scared that was going to happen so they made a movie about it.

I hate to say it, but we are not so different. At the climax of Trump's presidency, I was scared the exact same thing vice versa would happen to ME what with all the authoritarian nationalism spreading around.

And at the rate the far right become more mentally unstable, something like that is likely going to happen somewhere.

It wasn't banned in the US, and I think you may be confused as to who made the movie.

Oh. Well still it's a stupid movie and the premise would've been scarier and more fitting had it been presented the other way around like I said.

Have you seen it?

Not a favorite, but there was something to it... It had some moments.

Probably hundreds of thousands of black people actually experienced getting hunted over the past 400 years. That's not fiction but the conservatives don't want their kids to learn about it.

Yep, the San Bushmen were hunted like wild game. A hundred years ago is a scary short blip in history.

Was talking about the Dutch. Went to school with a few South African immigrants.

The Dutch and the British. I went to school with south Africans, a lot of them escaped to Australia toward the end of apartheid and escape riots.

At the time conservatives went all crazy and it did get pulled for a few months. That was incredibly dumb of them as in the movie the “deplorables” were the good guys the elite liberals were bad guys.

It was a typical Blumhouse horror flick. Blumhouse was making a profit statement, not a political one. The politics were there to provide a story line. Was it a classic? No. Did it use exaggerated stereotypes? Yes, that is part and parcel of horror flicks. I got a few chuckles out of it, enjoyed it for what is was, and feel the money I spent renting it was not wasted.
