It's possible both William and Harry might have been less influenced by Charles if Diana was still alive.

So...Prince Harry was influenced by Charles ...to marry Meghan?

No, Venn diagram again. Both Charles/Diana would have influenced their sons. But both boys would have grown up differently and perhaps met different people under different circumstances.

Perhaps Dodi Fayed might have engineered situations where Harry or William mixed with a more cosmopolitan crowd than the inbred aristocrats at Windsor parties.

The OP may be suggesting (he can perhaps confirm) that Meghan's strong character in Suits (let's face it, that's where Harry got the hots for Meghan) may have been the type of woman he wanted, a hot babe who would take charge and look after him. A kind of substitute for a mother he never had.

Just speculation of course.

I see.

He woulda mixed with a better class of folks had both (albeit divorced) parents had been in Harry's life.

Maybe. Gawd only knows.

One funny thing Ive always noticed though. Next time you see a pic of Harry and Meghan together- check out how much the two of them...look alike.

Different and alike. Their coloration is totally different. He is as pallid as a stereotypical red haired Irishman, and she is darker than even Mediterranean folks like the Kardashian sisters. But in facial features? Amazing similarity. They could be different gender clones of each other if you ignore coloration, and just look at their facial features. She looks like him. Also she also kinda looks like his mom. So that latter fact lends credence to your theory that he saw a surrogate mom in her.

Just on that, if you watch the relationship between Mike Ross and Rachel Zane, Rachel is a strong/beautiful motherly type who is fearless and stands by Mike whatever trouble he gets in. I imagine Diana would have been like that for Harry as he was getting caught by paparazzi. It probably helps that Markle was also media savvy/into international causes like Diana.

There has has to be some element of Diana that Harry sees in Meghan.

If Diana did manage to survive the car crash, they'd just attempt to assassinate her again.

I imagine the people who organised hits on JFK and others are good at their job. No second tries needed.

Refresh my memory about the conspiracy theory.

Why did the power that be supposedly want to kill Princess Dianne again?

Mostly tongue in cheek. It's a hypothetical. Queen informs MI5 that the mother of the future king of England cavorting with a muslim playboy would likely destroy the foundations of the British royal family. MI5 act accordingly to protect this most valuable institution, MI5 are unlikely to make mistakes.

I would say while the British public were unhappy about Diana's death, however, a certain segment of the conservative establishment might have been relieved she was out of the picture.

an unpopular opinion- it was the fault, ultimately, of diana's bodyguard for failing to rein in diana. he at the very least could have insisted she buckle up, for starters.

according to what i've read, it was only henri paul that was said to have been intoxicated with something, though the bodyguard denies seeing him drink anything.

Well Diana never should have died.

I mean what are the chances a freak accident like that would have happened?

humans since the dawn of man have conspired to do things good and ill, mostly ill.
