Current or old, doesn’t matter whether you currently have one or have had one in the past.

I’m a comfort classic. I grew up my whole life obsessed with flannel. I always demanded my flannel blankie and took it with me everywhere I went, even on my first day of school. Eventually I learned how to sew and began making my own flannel plushies instead.

My last creation I made in 2014 and he’s still with me today, with some minor and major repairs here and there. He’s my favourite and continues to join me wherever I go. He’s still soft and plush and the flannel I used has the most soothing texture I’ve ever felt.

That'll be a knife. Whatever one I have on me will be the one that comforts me, which is determined by many variables (I almost always have at least one on me). Cutting binds. Survival. Day to day stuff, of course, but that's more practical than "comfort". That'll be from the first Victorinox my mother bought me to now. They make me feel safer, and I guess that's what matters. Comfort is comfort.

Something more...bright, that'll be some pendants my mother bought for me that I have on a chain with my "crack in case of bad meltdown or fight or flight" pill bottle. They represent things from my life.

My quilt that I always put around me when I use the computer or read, draw, play video games and almost everything I do while sitting down except bathing or answering nature's call. I guess it's kind of like those weighted blankets or therapy vests or whatever, except I don't know why something that weighs fifty pounds or restricts your movements would be seen as comforting.

And my shovel
And my trusty reciprocating saw

I keep a swiss army type knife on my keychain but I also have a good size knife/blade collection & other similar type things. A lot are deigned to be display pieces but some would be good workhorses if I needed & wanted em to be.

I don't really have a comfort item or remember ever having one, thou my parents remember me having a teddy bear Curious George type monkey when I was little. I bring my keys, wallet, & cellphone whenever I leave our place but it's more of a potential need than a comfort thing like wearing a pair of shoes is. I do various internet things on my phone when I'm out or when I'm in the living room or kitchen at home but it's mostly a distraction to pass time & reduce boredom so I think of it as practical usefulness instead of a comfort thing.

She's also got a black coat with a collar and baby socks that I use for mittens.

Are several different things which do or have filled the role of comfort items.
Maybe my two cats even count at times!

Lately this book about golden age space toys seems to be filling the comfort item role,

I really like my weighted blanket, although my joint problems are making it hard to maneuver and I might have to give it up at some point. Also, oddly enough, a big high-quality air purifier.
