Was at the beach hangin' with some homies last week and chatted with one of the regulars I've known for ~6 summers now. One thing led to another and he said "You should let me train you."
I gave it some thought and decided I'd be stupid to decline. He's a goal achieving high performance human and I'm sure will be a really good influence on me in terms of physical/mental health as well as decision making/business/investment things. I've never had a personal trainer before - too poor/cheap to pay for one and haven't seen the value in it.. buuut, with this guy making this offer I couldn't say no - if he's able to influence me in all the right directions to become a more goal achieving me instead of a day dreaming me, I'm all for it. I anticipate that at first it will cost me money, but in the long run his influence will make me money and it will literally pay off in the bank besides physically/mentally.
He's younger than me and one of the wealthiest people I know - from what I hear, anyways.. he doesn't talk much - others have told me a bit more about his business holdings. He drives fast expensive cars, owns a restaurant, commercial real estate, had a chain of stores across the country, has a beachfront Airbnb in Nicaragua, his bicycle costs more than most peoples' cars & when he buys steaks they're hundreds of dollars each. That's the sort of person who's improvement mentality would be Very Beneficial to learn and grow from, IMO.
So, I agreed to go to his place this eve for an assessment of where I'm at - which is weak AF compared to how strong I was 4 years ago - and get started with whatever he suggests for a strength training/meditation/martial arts regiment. Apparently he has a gym, dojo, and hot tub in his home. I guess I'm gonna find out this eve! If I don't type much at all later then maybe everything is sore including my fingers. (Reality is I have 2 more projects to complete Today/Tonight as well - off to buy another car if it checks out, then some serious letter writing to a government agency, so I may not be online a whole lot until those tasks are completed.)

Well, I didn’t get my ass kicked.. but it was a good session. This guy is very physical, but Also mental and about mindset and goal achieving and all things related - far more well rounded approach than just a personal trainer.. more like also a life coach, counsellor, mentor etc all rolled into one. He’s a high performance human focusing his efforts on creating more high performance humans. I’ll get physically fitter, but also mentally tough, sharp, focused, and ever higher achieving - all things that will benefit me and get me on track towards tackling my own goals.
I’m going to commit to 10 sessions to begin with - twice a week for 5 weeks - and assess results. Chances are that if I put in the work I’ll see results and value and continue - that’s the whole point.
I could have never really considered something like this in the past as my income wouldn’t have allowed for it. But since my income has ~tripled, I can justify the expense and see if working with him results in making me more powerful and effective in all areas of my life. If it’s worth it, it’s worth it - might end up being one of the best & most valuable decisions of my life as his words and methods seem rather.. effective. The results he’s achieved for himself are rather incredible, really.
And on the physical end of things, he’s very knowledgeable. Way better than just some basic trainer that works on proper form for weight lifting or something. Sure, there’s value to that too, but this guy has intricate knowledge of the brain/body connection as well as biomechanics & getting your body to function and perform optimally. The detailed things he was able to assess about my strengths and weaknesses were quite impressive.

First scheduled session this morning. Feeling pretty good! Even with only a collective 1.5 hours of various exercises between the intro assessment and today, he was impressed with the progress I made in a week on a couple things.
It's 9:13am and I've already driven over 100km, had 3 showers, a warmup jog, a workout, a hot tub & meditation, and a couple meals.
Off to the office pretty quick to get rolling on business for the week. Feeling like all of this is going to make me not only stronger, but mentally sharper & more productive. Plus in time I'll have a much better looking canvas for my tattoo artist to work with.
