I'm due for a haircut appointment tomorrow but being so a hair wash is included too I thought it'll be no point in washing it beforehand. Is there a social taboo about turning up to a hair cut appointment with greasy hair even though they're going to wash it anyway?

Not where I live.
I mean not a taboo. I did once go to a hairdresser with super greasy hair and even apologized fot it, explaining I had too much work recently, and she was full of understanding.

They’ll wash it anyway….as long as your hair doesn’t stink, it should be okay.

If it includes a wash anyway, then I don't see why it wouldn't be okay. Having actual dirt on your hair would be another story of course.

It's not dirty or anything, just hasn't been washed for a few days.

My one of my relatives can't wash her own hair herself for some medical reason, so she has no other option than to go to a hair salon with greasy hair.

I just worry in case the girls that cut your hair might judge. I suppose I could say something like "sorry about my hair being unwashed, I didn't feel the need to wash it today or yesterday as I'm having it washed here anyway" is something like that. Sometimes showing that you're aware of a flaw makes it more socially acceptable.

You do not have to interact with the barber regularly

If the barber overreacts, you could take your cash elsewhere

There is no point in washing your hair if , the barber is going to wash it again. Useless

I've heard some really disturbing Reddit stories about hairdressers who had to look after people who had *worse* than hair that was just greasy. :eew:

Also people need to wash their neck and behind their ears at least before they go have their hair done.

My daughter is a stylist and greasy hair doesn’t bother her.She is understanding, her hair is oily and gets greasy fast.
What really makes them mad is when a customer books a whole afternoon and then cancels at the last second leaving a huge empty slot.

It's totally okay because you need to wash your hair after it has been cut.

If it's going to be a wet cut anyway, then I can imagine so.

I get my hair cut by my mum's friend who is a freelance hairdresser so she's fine with me turning up greasy-haired. But if it were a salon I was going to, I'd probably put some dry shampoo in beforehand.
