Many of you might be aware that many die hard MAGAs love Rage against the Machine
https://melmagazine.com/en-us/story/rag ... -political

Hardly surprising since their movement attracts superficial shallow people who become furious when they discover they have been supporting a band because they like the music but didn't bother checking the lyrics.

But if you think that's strange get ready to hold your beers...

I feel a deep sense of peace with the absurdity of human existence after having seen this

Yeah, but many dictators have taste - Beethoven has been severly misused by basically everyone, for example. But this is bizarre on a level that defies interpretation

At least Saddam Hussien was un ironic in his tastes.

On his B-day would order the the philharmonic orchestra of Bagdad to play - the exact song that you would expect a corporate CEO, or a dictator, to wanna hear.

Sinatra's "I Did it My Way".

I suppose to Kim its not ironic. Though he demands conformity and obedience from his people he see himself as defying the powerful USA. So he IS raging against the machine.

I'm wondering if Dennis Rodman might have introduced RATM to dear leader?

The chorus seems applicable, in both cases.

The Klan would find it ironic their legacy of lynching black folk and burning crosses would end up in a classical opera in North Korea
