Only if they're chocolate coated like Magnum or Nuii

No way.

A couple of years ago I ate the only lollipop Ive eaten since I left grade school fifty years ago...an imported one in a candy store that contained a real one-time-live-insect. A big block of transparent red candy containing some kind of bug. Was counting the store for the inventory company I work for. Got curious at the display of these weird lollipops with bugs in them. So I HAD try one out. Picked the one with the biggest and gnarliest bug. Bought it at quitting time.

Took me several days to lick it down to the nub. Suddenly the sugary candy taste was interrupted by ...a moment of meaty taste...like a tiny crumb of white meat chicken flitting across my tongue on its way down-- before the sugary fruity taste returned. That was the bug. Neither exotically good, nor exotically revolting. Just a nanosecond of protein. Anticlimax. Oh well.

If I were impatient enough. As a child that's the reason why I ever did so.

But mostly, no. I prefer chewing on something way more brittle and saltier.

When they get extremely thin, I bite them off the stick. Occasionally I mince that with my incisors. I hate getting that stuff stuck in my teeth, so I don't chew large pieces or use my molars. I hate the squeakiness of chewing ice, plus my teeth are sensitive to cold. But I love refrigerating chocolate to make it extra crunchy.

We needed a lollipop thread. :)
I lick mine at first, then crunch it towards the end usually. Sometimes I lick to the end. But lollipops are not my favorite treat so I rarely eat them.
I mean, does anyone know of a truly superb lollipop?
I’d pass on bugs.
