While I was out on the porch smoking a cigarette, I saw a cat and some kittens in the back yard (where I saw the deer last night). I knew since the cat was wandering around with the kittens, they were probably homeless. I went right inside and called the police dispatcher to see if any animal control units were on tonight. There weren't. I asked what I could do. He said that if I could catch them and put them in a carrier, then he could send someone out to collect them and bring them to the humane society. I was getting my shoes on when my wife asked what I was going to do. I told her that I was going out to get the cat and kittens and like a mother being told by her 13 y.o. daughter that she's going to be out after midnight, drinking and using drugs, she told me, "NO! Absolutely not! No way are you going out there and possibly bringing back rabies or some other disease!"

I was going out to help some kittens and a cat.

Slap her down to remind the b***h who's dominant.

Just ignore her. There is no "dominant" in a healthy relationship. There's simply no excuse for giving someone orders and demanding obedience, ever! If it was me in your situation I'd probably laugh in her face. But then I'm me and you're you...

Mm. I would have raised an eyebrow, walked out the door after the cats and probably muttered something she wouldn't have much liked under my breath.

So...did you get the cats?

they scurried away at my approach.

I left some food out and sent an e-mail off to the humane society. Hopefully they can set some traps.

Sorry for my bluntness here, but it's obvious from many of your posts that the current state of your marriage is ... uh... not so great. :?

Do you even want to fix it? Does she?

That truly is unforgivable.
