This is not exactly your salvaged materials special sort of styrofoam & plastic barrels sort of homemade float home - rather stunning, really:

Way cheaper than most one bedroom condos (although it's still possible to buy some 1-2 bedroom condos in some suburb locations for less $) and moorage is typically cheaper than condo strata fees these days, especially in some marinas. (I know a few people that live aboard boats/float homes or in dry dock because it's significantly cheaper than rent.)

Kinda wonder if they built it to sell, or just because they could, or if they're now just done with the project and want to move on to something else etc.

Bet they have a difficult time selling it - probably difficult to get a loan for such a float home, and insurance/insurance on the loan - it's not exactly like a house that can be repossessed and sold for a known value, so I bet financing & insurance will be a constraint to selling it quickly. That and most people considering moving onto a float home are doing it to save as much money as possible. Although, I have seen some houseboats list for that much money.. but it was a 2 or 3 bedroom vs. 1 bed.

Whatever, anyways, it's a pretty magnificent float home for some floater to live on someday.
