Easter Parade? (1948)
The Last Temptation of Christ?
The Life of Brian?

The standard Christian dress-up epics are too dull. Mel Gibson is too gruesome.

Well if it's actually something that has to do with religion somewhat (from what I can recall) Reefer Madness. The only thing that comes to mind rn. I remember The life of Brian, I highly suggest it.

"Reefer Madness is a musical satire of the 1936 propaganda film and cult classic Reefer Madness that opened in Los Angeles in 1998."

Reefer Madness is funny and I preferred the humor to The Life of Brian.

Whooops, I meant the 2005 one.

Logan (2017)

The last three Harry Potter films.
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2009)
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 (2010)
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 (2011)

They all involve sacrificing oneself to save the many. Logan and Dumbledore both sacrifice themselves, though I would argue that Dumbledore knew he would die anyway. Snape does not want to die, but he does protecting the son of the woman he loved and the man he despised.

Also, in Deathly Hallows part 2, Harry seemingly comes back from the dead to save the magical and muggle world.


A Simpsonesque answer might be, Warm Bodies (2013). The point here is the zombie does good and isn't just looking for a delicious moist snack. I'm pretty sure brains are moist.

Ooh, Easter can be bloody, like the Warm Bodies, moist but like red painted eggs.

I saw this on television when I was about 7 years old. It always reminds me of Easter.

I will forever think of the old Tarzan movies as Easter movies because of a childhood event.
I was enjoying the marathon they had on the local TV station for Easter Sunday when a tornado hit the neighborhood.
This was pre-tornado siren.Not much warning at all.Sky got dark, power went off and some of the neighbors roofs went airborne.
