:D Very exciting! I had all these elements that I randomly wanted to fit into the book. It should be the end of the series of four books unless I somehow introduce more questions. That seems to happen when I write, and I think "Well, more material for the next book." but now I have to shut that down.

It's a sci-fi series about a highly dysfunctional family in a bad situation. Each book has followed a new member or members of the family. This new one jumps ahead a generation (because I ran out of members of the currently established family) with the children of the main character of the first book.

The series has been peeling back layers of what has caused the artificial worlds they inhabit to fail. In this book, it's down to the big bad that's the root of everything. I kind of set myself up in a tough situation because I basically said there was no solution in the last book. In this one, I have to dig the characters out of that. I have a solution, but it's kinda depressing. The whole series has been getting rougher and rougher on the family, I was hoping for a happier end but maybe I'm not able to write a happy ending for this story? I'm still hoping that I can redeem all the pain the family has suffered but that hasn't materialized so far.

Anyone else ever written yourself into a corner?
