How to cope with living with family?

So, we've had decorators in today. Normally I get through the day by taking excessive amounts of sleeping pills, but even with enough to make me dizzy, I can't sleep with the noise. I think they'll be done today but I expect someone will come to help my Mother move all the furniture back.

To add to the problem she has now installed a lock on the gate in the back garden. So I can no longer get off the premises via the back garden, I can only use the front door.
