Just reopened after extensive repairs due to cracks. It’s a salt water pool right beside the ocean in the Kitsilano neighbourhood of Vancouver. I haven’t been there for at least several years and have probably only been there a handful times ever - but, it’s nice and kinda neat so maybe I’ll swing by sometime for a swim. 8)

Sure is!

Everywhere here is beautiful scenery. That's why our licence plates say "Beautiful British Columbia," on them. 8)

I'm sure it's decent to hangout at - but it's still not the same as the beach I go to regularly about a 10 min drive away - Wreck Beach. Google it. :D

There's a smaller fresh water pool over on the other side by 2nd Beach in Stanley Park - that's neat, too. And at 3rd Beach is a MASSIVE drum circle every Tuesday I think.. I've never gone - but it attracts several hundred drummers. I'm sure it's a good time, too.. but we often have a bunch of drummers at Wreck to listen to (a few dozen or so sometimes), especially on Summer weekends.

Your neighborhood has some good things going on.

Not *quite* my neighbourhood, but closer than you I suppose. Just checked google maps, Kitsilano Pool is 42km from home/59min drive right now. But I am regularly in that area as I go to Wreck Beach most sunny days/evenings. (45km/50min right now)

Kind of crazy to think about all the locals that never drive or don't drive very far. There are people that live in parts of town that never even cross a bridge.. while I'll cross two just to go to the beach ~every day. People think it's "so far," to live in the sorta-near suburbs where I do but it's only a 40min almost all highway drive at night in no traffic. Meh, I don't watch TV... so skip one useless show & I can transport myself to a beautiful beach. Plus I LIKE driving/riding. It would kinda suck if I lived super close to the beach and had a 5-10 min motorcycle ride there  I'd have to go tour around first and then go to the beach. Hell, even living 45km or so away sometimes I take a longer scenic route home on Summer nights like I did a few days ago.. head downtown first, cross Vancouver and hit HWY-1.. then sometimes overshoot my exit and come back around home through the next city just to add another leg to the ride. 8)

Everything is in your neighbourhood when you don't mind hopping in/on a vehicle and just going. Although, there are popular destinations for locals and tourists here that I've never ever gone to in my life lol hmmm maybe someday. (or maybe not.)

Agreed, it does! I'll have to give Leslie credit for the photo - she took it. She's someone I know from the beach and posted the pic as the pool just re-opened last Sunday or something like that.

Lots of "That looks so good," places around here.. and now that the whole world has seen those photos & videos and swung by to party during the 2010 Winter Olympics.. those Million dollar views now cost $Multi-Millions.  :(
