Since autistic people are known for having unusual fears and anxieties, it very well could have something to do with AS.
They are? I didn't know that and have some strange fears.
I don't like plugging things into outlets. I'm ok doing it outside my own home or if I use the same outlet and plug very frequently. Sometimes when I plug things in I see or hear a spark and I don't like plugs that make noise.
I don't want to light the stove with a match.
I keep my mirrors facing the wall behind the door. I don't like seeing reflections in things unless I'm looking in a mirror on purpose. This bothers me more at night or if I'm home alone.I'm scared of spiderwebs, mostly of touching them.
I've just discovered that my daughter has inherited my weird fear of mirrors, at night especially - she had no idea that was why my wardrobe had it's mirror replaced with hardboard. I've always made a conscious effort to not allow any fears to show in her presence, as I don't want her to be affected just by copying me. Last night, we put up a curtain rail over her mirrored wardrobe, so that she can have the mirror for daytime (she's not scared during the day), but it's covered when she wants to sleep. She got to sleep much quicker last night than she has done in a very long time.
