Have you ever thought that you grew out of Asperger's or autism? I have had times where I thought that.

Perhaps your coping skills have improved?

Yes. My ASD reached its peak during my early teenage years then since then I've developed better social skills that I now take for granted.

For 40 years I always wondered what was "wrong" with me, then for the next 10 I had to endure being stuck with, or shunned by, those who refused to see the truth I presented to them.

I've yet to live AS an autistic person.

I didn't think I would grow out of Aspergers because I didn't even know about it till after I graduated high-school when my mom told me she thought I had it. I didn't research it much at the time or think a lot about it till I kept having various problems in my early 20s & started connecting the dots in my mind. I had LOTS of various issues my entire life but I didn't really understand why I had issues. I assumed it was due to me having various physical issues & various learning problems like dyslexia that others could NOT understand nor relate to. I thought the intolerant world was the source of my problems. I joined this forum after I started thinking more about autism & I made a lot of progress as a result. I learned, grew, matured & can handle some things a lot better than I used to. However I still have lots of various issues & know I always will. I kinda accept myself while also wanting to handle things well when I can can.
