I’ve a bit of a specific issue and I’m not sure where to start… I grew up in a very small street next to a little forest and I loved my environment. As a child I was very asthmatic and allergic and was sick easily. I moved away when I was 7 years old and my parents divorced. I moved with my mom in a small town in the mountains and my asthma and health increased. I moved back a few years ago with my cat in that house where I grew up in. But because that house had so many issues I decided to sell my apartment there. I’m that way I found out that my little, lovely street used to be a dumpster until the end of the 1940s, maybe beginning of the 50s, until it got turned into a cheap residential area. I didn’t know it before and it was a total shock for me when I found it out. 8O
I sold my apartment there about two years ago. I remember growing up there that many disabled children lived in that street. My cat developed slight asthma, but besides that she’s doing fine. :)

I’m glad that I sold my apartment there and moved away, eventhough I loved it there. I just recently bought a small house in the countryside.

I just ask myself if it’s possible if there’s a connection to my autism and my mental health problems!?

I think there might definitely be a connection. Not sure if there is a connection to your Autism but I think definitely a connection to your physical health and mental health. If you grew up on what was once a landfill, even if it's covered, you are still exposed to bacteria and microbes in the air quality, ground quality, and possibly even the water supply which could definitely have an adverse effect on your health. That's one reason that we shouldn't live in land fills. I know that a lot of people do because they don't have a choice but that is very dangerous to your health and well being. I can certainly see how it would have an affrect on asthma.

It could also affect you neurologically which, in turn could affect how your Autism manifests. Were you Autistic because you lived there? I am not a doctor or a scientist so I can't say for sure but I would think not. Could your Autism have been affected because you lived there, I think that could be possible.

I don’t think my parents knew when they bought two apartments in that house in the end of the 70s. The issue is that our house was the first house who was officially not affected anymore, so you don’t have to tell when you sell. But I’ve worked in that garden for several hours and have found quite some trash in the ground, so in a way our house was clearly still effected. :?

I just know that on my moms side of the family many have dyslexia with auditory processing disorder, but I’m the only one with autism so far I’m aware of. But either way, I’ll never find out for certain.
