Getting This Strange Error Message From Steam!

Greetings, I am having a problem on Steam. Since yesterday when I open Steam, I am getting this error message "A connection to the VAC servers could not be made error." I have no idea about this error. Has anyone encountered such kind of error before? I am utterly confused getting this error. Please help.

You've been Vac banned, probably for cheating.
