I worked for a Supermarket company. But I was at three different stores.
The first one was very laid back and cool. But it closed.
The second one was a little more frantic, but still decent. It closed.
(Should have seen a pattern here.)
The third store was in a better location and doing quite well, no threat of closure. IT WAS HELL. One manager forcefully poked me several times on the shoulder and told me "You're not the boss!" when I asked a new guy what time he was leaving and he complained. Workplace mobbing ensued, slander, I was blamed for everything. A bunch of girls who worked up front got nasty with me. This one girl tried to run me over in the parking lot one night. She gunned it as I was exiting and walking across the parking lot (she was pulling her car up). No joke. When I complained to management, nothing was done. They eventually found a reason to fire me.
Same company, wildly different experiences at three separate locations.
