I am on a list for employment as I last worked in 2017. I had a call for an interview and as I was going to be very close by I thought I would pop in to shock everyone.
I got accepted and I passed the training and on day one I made a sale. I was working in a call center for purenergyus trying to wean people off fossil fuels onto windmill generated energy.
On day 2 I realized that the bills went up from about 200USD per month to 800. People were calling me nasty names and I found out that you have to be quite rich to afford this so I went to my team leader and told him I wanted to resign.
That is the shortest job I have ever had. Was I right in leaving?

I probably wouldn't have quit, but I probably would have immediately started looking for something else. I do think that NDs can be very good at sales, but it does require a product or service that is genuinely good. I know that over the time that I've been working in retail that I've gotten rather good at selling people on things, but probably only because I view it more as connecting the right product to the right customer.

In this case, it is a really tough call as that's a massive difference, that's about a third of what I'm getting paid for the last week of work, which is a lot for most people and I can't blame them for being upset about it.

Off topic, but...I gotta compare my bills. I switched to some kind of alternative energy thing. like a year or two ago.

Were you right to leave? Morally, I'd say yes. Practically, it depends on your financial prospects and circumstances.

I'd much prefer a world in which sales people didn't exist and everybody got their info from the experience of other users about what to buy.
