1. Very Formal & Pedantic Speech.
2. Restricted & Obsessive Interests.
3. Motor/Physical Clumsiness.
4. Difficulty with Social Interaction (with the inclusion of awkwardness, consequently it provokes me to seek seclusion)
5. Picky eating.

I also exhibit an accumulated range of various other traits such as excessively literal interpretations, persistent social isolation as well as anxiety & stimming (leg shaking is far by the most prominent aspect, hand flapping is very occasional)

Diagnosed with "Classical" Asperger's syndrome in 1998.
AQ: 47/50

1. Routine. I MUST do the things I know how to do, the way I know how to do them. I must drive the exact same route, sleep at the same times, have the same parking spot ect..

2. Picky eating. I rotate between a dozen different foods that I eat.

3. Lack of friends. I would maybe like to have a good friend or two, it's just too hard to make myself be social.

4. Poor communication skills (when it really matters) I can't fight and have a hard time telling someone when I'm upset. I can't ever seem to say what I really want to say.

5. Immaturity. I'm 36 and act more like my teenage kids. I need to grow up but don't really see the point.

1. Aversion to eye contact
2. Bad at "P's and Q's" because I don't know what to say at the moment I need to say it
3. Weird stims like picking at myself
4. Obsessions no one else seems to care about as much as I do
5. Generally not understanding social protocol-thank you letters, calling people, ending a conversation

1. Social Issues. There's isolation and then there's ISOLATION. I've been out of work 2 months and in all that time I've only spoken once to 1 person (a therapist). I will say 'hi' to the convenience store clerk when I go in there to buy beer, but that's about it. I don't socialize with anyone and weekends mean nothing to me. Just another day.
2. Special Interests. I'm completely focused on those every day. Projects that I start can take so long to complete (sometimes an entire year) that practically everything else gets ignored.
3. Idiosyncratic speech. This aspect drove people crazy at the jobs I've had. I've been working at it though, but every so often I still slip & refer to myself in the third person. I also sometimes use a euphemism to describe myself which folks find totally odd & out of place.
4. Stimming. I shake my legs all day and occasionally twirl my fingers. Again, another trait that drives folks nuts.
5. Eye contact. I've also been getting better with that, but combine that quirk with bright lights and I'll be automatically be looking down.

1. Obsessive over interests to the point where I burn myself out on something after a week then move to a new obsession then back to the other one etc
2. Sensory overload in public settings
3. Poor motor skills. Took an EMT course and couldn't tie knots for a swath and other stuff.
4. Fear of other people and social interaction.
5. Stimming, I flick my thumb and index finger when I go out, I have to fight not to do other stuff. It makes me feel safer when I go out, like a security blanket.

I don't have a melt down every week but when I do have one its bad. Give myself black eyes, bruises etc.
