LOL I'm looking for work. I haven't had a job since 2010 (long story) I was hoping someone here may have something for me to do. I will email the lawyers I've already contacted again, to see if they'll help with an appeal. *sigh*

thx

Looks like you're out of luck

Generally, you need 40 credits, 20 of which were earned in the last 10 years ending with the year your disability begins.

Better look into SSI instead

You haven't worked since 2010, but how many years did you work up until 2010? Without a solid work history, there will be no basis for awarding SSDI. If you did not work long enough to get enough work credits, it usually won't work.

I think you can get up to 4 credits per year after you've made X amount of dollars (currently in the $6,000 range). In other years it was less. And it helps to have worked more recently. You need something like 40 credits (meaning you've worked at least 10 years or so) as a basis for SSDI.
