Physical characteristic of autism?

Although my ears are not big at all in term of shape they are pointy like 'elf ears' sort of similar Link from legend of zelda.

Is that an unusual physical characteristic because of my autism?

There is neither a specific physical characteristic nor set of physical characteristics that indicate an autistic individual.

There is no way you think elf ears are autism ears Jamesy. I think you are winding us all up with this thread!

Unrelated, but when I was about 12 years old I met this kid who had long hair that covered his ears. He was shorter, paler, very freckled. In a lapse of social aptitude, I said "You know, you look like the type of person to get typecast as an elf in a Christmas movie."

He froze up and stared at me and said "Who told you?" I said, "Uh, what are you talking about?"

Then he pulls back his hair and had pointed ears. One of the strangest coincidences I've ever seen.

Got to like these random threads.

I have one ear that is rounded and one ear that does have a point to it.

I don't think that is an Autism physical characteristic

I have never seen somebody who has them in person, though.

A young Black coworker guy in the warehouse I worked in told me (I happened to be White) that I had "small ears like a Black person, instead of big ears like most White folks".

Not quite the way he said it. He said "HEY...you got n****r ears!".

But no one has ever credited me with having ears like an elf. Or like Spock.

I sometimes wish there was a physical characteristic of autism. Then we'd be believed if we say we're on the spectrum. There would be no doubt.

Yes. Down's Syndrome folks have a distinctive look.

Even Williams Syndrome ( a rare condition often described as "the opposite of autism" because the children with it are compelled to socialize and interact with you and to NOT keep to themselves) have subtle visible traits in common. Or so I have heard.

But not autistics. But I heard a lady expert on the radio say that autistic children are not only normal looking but "can have rather handsome features".

I only have plain, rounded ears.
