It's "normal" but it shouldn't be. But yeah, kids are cruel, not much you can do about that.

Because they literally have not matured yet. They will eventually - might take another 10-20 years, but people do grow up and grow out of those behaviours in time.

I think at that age it's common to define yourself by what you're not (and / or by the status quo) and to say or do anything that's considered bad (for the sake of being edgy which is seen as cool).

Most people age out of this edgy stage. I can't stand adults who still act this way.

Yes they mature and change with time. In my case, after diagnosis which only happened almost 27 years after leaving school, there was a whole string of apologies both online and in person at the reunion, for how they treated me at the time.

It seemed intense to me at the time of high school but in reality I didn't fare too badly. I handled it wrong at the time though.

Be strong; the narcissistic bullying/teasing types hate being ignored as they are the inwardly insecure ones.

Their brains cells are being ravaged by hormones right now. But eventually they'll mature and start acting like real 12-14 year olds, which is usually when they're around 45.
